There will be a 1-month (ish) hiatus/ sabbatical/ mid-season break while Boom runs our favorite Murder-Power-Fanstasy RPG. So get right on that! (As a reminder, Deathwatch XP “Spent” is at 25,600, of which 12,000 is the starting character XP)
Mistakes have been made.
Boom will not be available this Friday (Jan 17) to run our favorite Murder-Power-Fanstasy RPG because of other arrangements.
Here’s a picture to compensate for your loss:

Hero of Neverwinter:
If you guys have the time, create a level 19 character to represent the Hero of Neverwinter. This can be a collaborative effort or you can all just make your own, either way really works. They will be an ancillary character for the Neverwinter segment our campaign, where we rotate who gets to “drive” the character to do things.
We’ll decide who gets the hot-seat first in the next available session, possibly with a bidding war using pudding or bananas. I’m sure we can sort something out.
Because I’m dumb like that, here are a few guidelines to follow:
Uno: The Hero of Neverwinter was once a youth of the city, trained in the finest academy that Neverwinter can offer (under the guidance of Aribeth de Tylmarande). So like, no non-Forgotten Realms sources. Also, as the Hero, do act like you know Neverwinter and stuff (Alignment is still up in the air)
B: We’re going with
my fanfic the route where Aribeth doesn’t get a case of the deads (In original NWN and in the Expansion I guess you use raise dead or something). He/ She has a working relationship relationship of working (goddammit) with Aribeth, for good or ill.
III: To answer Luigi’s question, Items must follow the below rules:
- No item over Lvl 15
- Only one Rare
- Two Uncommon
- Two Wondrous Items (draws from the above caps)
- Limit of one item per “slot” (Arm, belt, ring etc.)
Part the Fourth: On Gender, it will be less of an issue since the Hero will never really (somehow) be in your immediate vicinity. Circumstances dictate they be near, but not on the same floor, balcony etc.
The rest is fair game as long as it makes sense. Don’t expect that just because they are lvl 19 that they get to do what they want; Combat is a focus of DnD, but not the sole purview of the game.
Ultimately, this is like a sort of opportunity for you guys to have much more influence on the events going on compared to just your current characters murder-hoboing it up.
Venue of the Event:
For this Saturday, I think I may be able to get a DnD session going, but no promises. Commitments reek of responsibility and sound like a lot of work.
That said, please post below who is cool this Saturday January 18 (same gig as last time, 2PM Centris)
Posts go here:
1st edit: Guys, i’ve made a level 19 character (actually, two or more).. so what do you want? a Human Fighter that can use as many weapons as he wants, or a Human Wizard who has the choice of as many spells as he wants? then again, i also have a Human Sentinel|Ranger that has as many wolf companions as she wants (but this kinda makes cbloader have bugs so i just won’t do it).. meh.. i’ll just put up Human Fighter.. he has Arena Fighter build but i’m only in it for instant 2-4 weapon proficiencies and more importantly, the ability to use anything as improvised weapons that are actually competent to martial weapons.. also has: rapid weapon switching in and out of turn via Quick Draw, Fast Hands and Weapon Master’s Strike; at-will/OA/CC/MBA proning via flail expertise and/or polearm momentum; at-will double attack spamming to two targets via Deft Hurler style Cleave; thunder damage conversion, optimization and close burst attack expansion to ANY weapon via MC Executioner and Thunderfist Ki Focus; being in two stances via Master’s Weapon; and lots of Encounter attacks via items.. he can be a bit hard to play due to decisions to use which weapon with which power at the right time, and action economy for sheathing weapons and exchanging hands.. he is fun to play because he can pick any weapon he wants (even a chair or a dead enemy’s head) and use it without losing proficiency or enhancement
(i’d like to thank F/Z Berserker for showing me how cool weaponmasters are).. out of battle, he deals by Intimidating, gains information via Streetwise, has Thievery, and the usual Athletics and Endurance, so he’s not just for battles.. if you don’t like it, i’ll just make Human Sword and Board Fighter (with eternal CA Frost cheese and WSG proning.. hehehe..) because all of my boners are with 4e Fighters, I wish my character was one.. but then, if we reach this level and further i think my arcane slut Bard is also gonna be WTF ahegao control powers cheese.. -Luigi
2nd edit: based on GM’s guidelines, Sword&Board Fighter
(w/ Frost and WSG cheese) or Polearm Fighter (w/ PM and Thunder cheese) it is, then.. great.. even though arena fighter talent is technically legal in LFR, let’s go with classic stuff.. and btw, is it assumed that the character is fully equipped with items appropriate of his level? -Luigi
3rd edit: since i’m the only one who made a character and kept consulting the GM about it (unless someone else made a character in secret), can i get to play him first? yep, i went the polearm fighter route coz it’s just more tactically rewarding to play with all the positioning (but man, trying to find those Common items took a lot from me).. i have no rare items, but have 3 uncommon items.. i also read up on those Neverwinter Nights summaries and looked up some Neverwinter basic knowledge..
oh GM, you’re pushing it with Aribeth being alive and not spirit form.. but i kinda made my character male so POSSIBILITIES.. .. if we can talk further before the game about this arrangement, that would be better..
